Multi-Platform Role Playing Game
Sacred 2 Fallen Angel

Developer: Ascaron Entertainment
Publisher: CDV Software
Introduction:
E3 has passed and left more than a few gamers with their jaws dropped over the lack of RPG's coming for the Playstation 3. Some are awfully bitter about the news that FFXIII is not going to be an exclusive to Sony's console this generation as well. For them I am pretty certain that this news will only be a mild comfort but to others it will be a sign that there are at least some RPG's that will make an appearance on both consoles besides Square Enix legendary title.
The first title in the series released with little notice at first but grew a fan base over time from players growing tired of Diablo II or Neverwinter Nights and looking for something fresh but with the same great appeal. Sacred had all the good aspects of the other games but built upon them with their detailed customization features for each character and skill sets and abilities the others didn't provide. This new release seeks to build even more on the already solid system they had in place providing more choices for customization. Not to mention online Coop play, PVP, and PVE game modes.
preview:
Sacred 2: Fallen Angel will allow players to choose from up to six different character classes that fall under one of the two alignments of good or shadow. Each character will be allowed to customize his/her character using mounts and familiars in addition to the combat abilities and character traits earned through leveling up. They have made some pretty obvious changes to the camera in this version as well which appears to give players a better look at the action without narrowing the view players see. Add all of that to a new free-form environment for players to explore seamlessly ( no stopping to load, yay) and the ability for coop players to drop-in and drop-out without stopping the game and you've got a pretty solid foundation for a hit.
Perhaps one of the biggest ideas of this RPG game that will hopefully set it apart from others that have gone before it is the multiplayer aspect. It isn't the first true RPG title to offer multiplayer on a console but it could be the first to get it right as previous at least one title that is similar in style tried and failed to measure up. (if you played it you know which one I'm talking about) The developers have proven in the past that they know what RPG gamers want and how to give it to them so let's hope this title holds true to their form.
The single player experience promises to give gamers hours of play with around 100 quests for the main story and approximately 650 side quests. With the replay factor looking good from the start my first question was will there be any downloadable content or console exclusives planned? Hopefully those answers will come soon but for now the developers are in "crunch" mode, according to a representative for CDV Software, and will try to get those answers for us as soon as they can. A November 2008 release is planned and it sounds like they are doing everything possible to hold to that schedule so in the meantime you can take a look at some official screenshots and video.

I have some great video to show and I am working trying to get those ready for you very soon. I can promise the video will be up in the next week but I can't say exactly when because I am hosting these myself and I am having some troubles getting them embedded because they are quicktime videos and I have to make them compatible with Internet Explorer which requires some special functions.
