Mission Statement
For those interested in joining The Hard Corps this is an outlining of what we expect of our members. We aren't like most of the clans you may have been a part of in the past and our guidelines aren't without a purpose. We won't try to force clan colors on you and your individual team or cut you because you don't make scrimmage games but we do expect you to adhere to the guidelines we put in place as we feel that it makes our clan stand out above the rest.
-
Teamwork is key!: This is the very defining nature of our clan, in a lot of different arenas people seem to think that being a lonewolf is respectable and they are superior to those people who depend on their team. We don't need those types of people in our clan for many reasons but most of which is because any player that is good enough to win on his own is guaranteed to win if he/she cooperates with their teammates. If this is an idea you can't support then you likely wouldn't fit in on any team but we know you wouldn't fit in here.
-
Know your Role!: Not everyone on the team can be at the top of the list, some people are most frequently at the top of the list because of the support efforts of their team. A sniper doesn't stand much of a chance if his team doesn't defend him from those out to get him. Just remember that your efforts make those at the top of the list what they are and those efforts are just as commendable if not more. You win as a team and as a result you also lose as a team. The reason most teams often fail is because they deviate from their strategies and allow the other team to exploit the weaknesses created by that situation.
-
Respect your Team!: These are the people who you depend on to watch your back on the battlefield so insulting them will not make them inclined to go out of their way to do so. Remember you win as a team and you lose as a team, it's really easy to question someone's judgment in a given situation and say you would have handled it differently. If you were in their situation you can't say how you'd react until you had reacted so it's all speculation and does nothing to build the confidence in your team.
-
Communication saves lives.: If you see your teammate being flanked but you can't get there to help him do everything you can to let them know what is happening and nobody can fault you. Watching your teammate get slaughtered and not firing a shot or calling out a warning is just ignorant. For these reasons you should all have your mic's on when in competition, always make sure your mic has a full charge or that you have a wired one ready as a backup.
-
Respect your opponents!: Confidence is a good thing but overconfidence can be your Achilles Heel. Don't let anyone disrespect you and always take up for yourself but never be the first to initiate trash talking a team that has been otherwise respectful of you. It is not unusual for a team to make a comeback in the middle of a match that your team was dominating to begin with. Never call another team garbage or noobs because they fell prey to your teams strategies and skills, after all that's what those strategies were created for.
-
Check your troubles at the door!: This is more of a suggestion than a rule but nonetheless it is not without merit. If you have some personal problems that are weighing on your mind then your head is not in the game where it should be. It will undoubtedly happen to us all at some point but try not to make your team pay for it. If you know you can't give a game your full concentration then ask to sit it out that day and try to secure an alternate in that case.
-
Second String does not mean second best!: Your placement on a team is intentional and you are there to play your role. If you let others influence you to believe that your on the second string because you are not as good then you will slowly become not as good. The reason we have two teams is so that they can learn from each other and practice the strategies we developed, not because one is better than the other. We arrange them into teams so that they can become better acquainted with each other and begin to predict what each other will do in a situation. This forces each team to constantly be in preparation to adapt to new situations and strategies and still remain effective in their given roles.
Your role can change, in the blink of an eye!: If you are designated as a sniper that may be your primary responsibility but it cannot be your sole responsibility. If the person guarding your position fails then you will likely have to change weapons and take up a new position to protect yourself. Not doing so will likely leave you vulnerable or dead for your arrogance, and you will have done your team a great disservice.
With that being said if you find yourself in agreement sign up on the clan area of the site and we'll see about getting you on the roster. Gamebattles has a 16 player limit for each team so we will try our best to make sure everyone gets a chance to play as often as possible. That is another reason why we will be setting up two competitive teams with their own rosters. I would like to add that NEVER should our first string challenge our second string on the Gamebattles ladders, this also means you should never participate in one of these challenges if someone else sets it up. It is us against them and we want to show our unity has it's benefits. Thanks for taking the time to read this and we are open to suggestion if you find these guidelines should be amended in some way.
